Chapter I
I attempted to depict the sad result of demonically inspired
discord among a body of believers in Jesus Christ. Verses: I Corinthians 3:1-4,
16-17
Q: What are ways that satan might sow discord
in the group I go to? How could I help neutralize the attack?
Chapter II
The Bible speaks more than once about false teachers who attempt
to draw believers away following Christ and to keep seekers from finding him.
Verse: I John 4:1
Q: Who are the false teachers at
work in our culture today? How can I take care to avoid their influence?
Chapter III
Scripture teaches that believers in Jesus are in a battle with
the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). The test of a spirit is whether
or not it "acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh [I John
4:2, NIV]" (See I John 4:1-3). The devil is a conquered foe. His only weapon
against the believer is lies. Our impermeable defense is being "in Christ".
Q: How might satan try to "fly in beneath radar"
and deceive me with a subtle lie?
Chapter IX
Scripture teaches that knowing Jesus is a decision. See John
1:12-13.
Q: Have I ever really asked Jesus into my life to
be my Lord and Savior?
Chapter XI
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" II Corinthians 5:17 NIV
Chapter XII
The notion that we can repell demonic attacks with a "truth encounter"(recalling who we've become "in Christ") is explained in practical terms in The Bondage Breaker by Neil T. Anderson (1990, 1993 Harvest House). I heartily recommend this book.
See Colossians 2:9-10
Q: Have
I been deceived into defeat by satan? Have I forgotten who I am "in Christ"?
